Grace

Q:Amma is Grace the ultimate deciding factor ?

Amma:Grace is the factor  that brings the RIGHT RESULTS at the RIGHT TIME in the RIGHT PROPORTION to your actions.

Q: Even if you completely dedicate yourself to your work, will the result depend on how much grace you have ?

Amma:Dedication is the most important aspect. The more dedicated you are, the more open you remain. The more open you are, the more love you experience. The more love you have, the more grace you experience.

Grace is OPENNESS.It is the SPIRITUAL STRENGTH and the  INTUITIVE VISION you can experience while performing an action.By remaining open to a particular scenario, you are letting go of your ego and narrow-minded views. This transforms your mind into  a better channel through which the Shakti can flow. The flow of Sakthi and its expression through our actions is Grace.

The Swan

Did you too see it, drifting, all night, on the black river?
Did you see it in the morning, rising into the silvery air –
An armful of white blossoms,
A perfect commotion of silk and linen as it leaned
into the bondage of its wings; a snowbank, a bank of lilies,
Biting the air with its black beak?
Did you hear it, fluting and whistling
A shrill dark music – like the rain pelting the trees – like a waterfall
Knifing down the black ledges?
And did you see it, finally, just under the clouds –
A white cross Streaming across the sky, its feet
Like black leaves, its wings Like the stretching light of the river?
And did you feel it, in your heart, how it pertained to everything?
And have you too finally figured out what beauty is for?
And have you changed your life?

It is as if a raindrop fell from heaven into a stream or fountain
and became one with the water in it so that never again can the
raindrop be separated from the water of the stream; or as if a
little brook ran into the sea and there was thenceforward no
means of distinguishing its water from the ocean; or as if a
brilliant light came into a room through two windows and though
it comes in divided between them, it forms a single light inside.

St. Teresa of Avila
Quoted in ‘The Virago Book of Spirituality’ Ed. Sarah Anderson

Only now and again a sadness fell upon me,
and I started up from my dream and felt a sweet
trace of a strange fragrance in the south wind.

That vague sweetness made my heart ache with
longing and it seemed to me that it was the eager breath of the summer seeking for its completion.

I knew not then that it was so near, that it was mine, and that this perfect sweetness had blossomed in the depth of my own heart.

-Gitanjali, translated from original Bengali by Tagore

” The Earth with its layers of land and water and air provides the space within which all living things are nurtured and the context within which humans attain their identity. If in the excitement of a secular technology reverence for the Earth has diminished in the past, especially in the western world, humans now experience a sudden shock at the devastation they have wrought on their own habitation. The ancient human-Earth relationship must be recovered in a new context, in its mystical as well as in its physical functioning. There is need for awareness that the mountains and rivers and all living things, the sky and its sun and moon and clouds all constitute a healing, sustaining sacred presence for humans which they need as much for their psychic integrity as for their physical nourishment. This presence whether experienced as Allah, as Atman, as Sunyata, or as the Buddha-nature or as Bodhisattva; whether as Tao or as the One or as the Divine Feminine, is the atmosphere in which humans breathe deepest and without which they eventually suffocate.”

I love the word Honor…A few years back a gathering of Indigenous people came forth… They were asked a question; ” At this time, what is most needed here on Mother Earth?” They instantly said in unison; ” Honor “.

I love the energetic of Honor…

” The world we live in is an honorable world. To refuse this deepest instinct of our being, to deny honor where honor is due, to withdraw reverence from divine manifestation, is to place ourselves on a head-on collision course with the ultimate forces of the Universe. This question of honor must be dealt with before any other question. We miss both the intrinsic nature and the order of magnitude of the issue if we place our response to the present crises of our planet on any other basis. It is not ultimately a political or economic or scientific or psychological issue. It is ultimately a question of honor. Only the sense of the violated honor of the Earth, and the need to restore this honor, will awaken in the human the energies needed to renew the planet in any effective manner.” Thomas Berry

I sat there and forgot and forgot
until what remained was the river that went by and I who watched. . .
Eventually the watcher joined the river
and then there was only one of us.
I believe it was the river.”
